Our Rainbow Kiss NHS Charity Fundraising T-shirt was designed by our co-founder Ro Rai in honour of Sanju Tamang, his late and dearly beloved wife and the founder of Mero Retro. All proceeds from Rainbow Kiss T-shirts are donated to 5 charities: NHS Charities Together (registered charity no. 1186569), Barts Charity (registered charity no. 212563), Homerton Hope (registered charity no. 1061659), St Joseph's Hospice (registered charity no. 1113125) and a leading UK cancer charity.

Sanju passed away on the 20th of March 2020 after a year long battle against a cancerous brain tumour. This T-shirt is our family's small way of saying 'thank you' and giving back to the wonderful organisations and countless caring professionals who supported - and continue to support - us on our most difficult journey.

NOVEMBER 2021 UPDATE: so far our Rainbow Kiss T-shirts have raised over £2,000 for charity. Thank you so much to everyone you has supported us in this campaign to give back to our fantastic health care providers.

The Design

The idea for the Rainbow Kiss design came to me when I was sorting through Sanju's belongings and found an old receipt from one of her stock buying trips to Thailand, which she’d used to clean up her lipstick - leaving a faded impression of her lips. At a time when the NHS, medical professionals, care workers and charities who helped us so much are themselves in need of our support, creating a design to raise funds for them seemed the very least I could do - and it’s something I know Sanju would approve of. We’re deeply indebted to all the doctors, nurses, carers, radiologists, paramedics, ambulance drivers, cleaners and countless other healthcare workers who made an intolerable situation just that little bit easier and so often did so with a smile. Thank you all 🙏🏽🌈

Vintage Sizing and Measurements

Vintage sizing and modern sizing can be very different. Because of this, we provide detailed measurements of all vintage clothing to help you determine whether or not a garment will fit correctly. An assessment of the estimated modern size will be noted, as well as any sizes on the tag, but please refer to measurements to best determine fit.

A good way to determine fit:

* Find a similar item in your wardrobe.
* Measure it according to our measurement guidelines.
* Compare your measurements to those of the vintage item you are interested in.
* You're done. If it's a good fit, make it yours!

We do occasionally pin clothing to fit our models, so please read all measurements carefully. We do not accept returns for vintage merchandise that does not fit. If you have any questions about our sizing/measurements, please contact us at info@meroretro.com.
