Hello we're Mero Retro, a vintage boutique in Dalston, east London. We stock a unique blend of quality hand-picked vintage, Fairtrade and handmade fashion items, including beautiful vintage Japanese kimonos; lines of vintage womenswear, menswear and accessories; handmade Nepalese garments and Fairtrade handicrafts as well as our own line of Fairtrade organic cotton t-shirts.
Mero ['mare-o'] means 'my' in Nepalese - the shared language of our founders, Sanju Tamang and Ro Rai, who hail from Bhutan and Nepal respectively. So Mero Retro means simply 'my retro': our personal take on vintage and retro style, with an eastern twist. Our mission is to bring you a unique selection of quality vintage clothing and accessories; Fairtrade and retro-inspired treasures, seasoned with a little Asian flavour.
Among our vintage pieces, you'll find every type of garment and accessory: gorgeous designer pieces, skirts, shirts, sunnies; denim, dresses, dungarees; coats, jackets, jumpsuits; bags, boots, hats, heels... and much more.
We pride ourselves in providing our customers with quality, hand-picked items at very affordable prices and we love getting to know each individual's unique style. We also provide personal shopping and alterations services so our customers get exactly what they're looking for and a great fit every time.
Here on meroretro.com you'll find a small, but ever-growing, selection from our Dalston shop. Every week we list fresh vintage, Fairtrade and retro-inspired goodies for your perusal.
So it's worth checking back regularly to catch the latest additions. We also showcase items on our Etsy shop and our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds.
We believe that beautiful clothes, accessories and handicrafts goods shouldn't cost the Earth - in every sense - and that by buying good quality items you can, and should, buy less. We're passionate about vintage and sustainable fashion and believe that they offer a positive alternative to the waste and harm caused by the fast fashion industry.
All of our high quality, pre-loved items still have a lifetime of use in them and our Fairtrade items, such as our t-shirts and Nepali handicrafts, come from certified Fairtrade suppliers or directly from artisans, small scale co-operatives and businesses. We're committed to making a positive social contribution through our business, by supporting local community projects here in east London and through our fund-raising projects for Nepalese community empowerment and Earthquake recovery charities.

Vintage Sizing and Measurements
Vintage sizing and modern sizing can be very different. Because of this, we provide detailed measurements of all vintage clothing to help you determine whether or not a garment will fit correctly. An assessment of the estimated modern size will be noted, as well as any sizes on the tag, but please refer to measurements to best determine fit.
A good way to determine fit:
* Find a similar item in your wardrobe.
* Measure it according to our measurement guidelines.
* Compare your measurements to those of the vintage item you are interested in.
* You're done. If it's a good fit, make it yours!
We do occasionally pin clothing to fit our models, so please read all measurements carefully. We do not accept returns for vintage merchandise that does not fit. If you have any questions about our sizing/measurements, please contact us at info@meroretro.com.
