This solid brass Fair Trade Nepalese vajra (Sanskrit) or dorje (Tibetan) pendant is small but mighty. It has an adjustable waxed cotton cord that allows you to wear the vajra / dorje pendant high up, close to your neck, or slung low on your chest according to your preference.
In the Hindu scriptures, the vajra is the mighty thunderbolt weapon of Indra, god of rain and thunder. In Tibetan Buddhism the vajra or dorje symbolises both the thunderbolt of Enlightenment and the indestructibility of diamond - signifying spiritual strength and resilience.
The Vedas describe Indra's vajra as an open-pronged weapon and, according to Buddhist legend, the Buddha took the vajra from Indra and closed it's prongs together, turning the once fearful weapon into a sceptre symbolising spiritual power, balance and harmony.
This pendant was made in Kathmandu by the artisans of Mahaguthi, Craft with Conscience, a Fair Trade organisation that promotes traditional Nepali culture, art and artisans.

Vintage Sizing and Measurements
Vintage sizing and modern sizing can be very different. Because of this, we provide detailed measurements of all vintage clothing to help you determine whether or not a garment will fit correctly. An assessment of the estimated modern size will be noted, as well as any sizes on the tag, but please refer to measurements to best determine fit.
A good way to determine fit:
* Find a similar item in your wardrobe.
* Measure it according to our measurement guidelines.
* Compare your measurements to those of the vintage item you are interested in.
* You're done. If it's a good fit, make it yours!
We do occasionally pin clothing to fit our models, so please read all measurements carefully. We do not accept returns for vintage merchandise that does not fit. If you have any questions about our sizing/measurements, please contact us at info@meroretro.com.
