Unisex Ribbed Cotton Shing Mai Trousers Orange

Size Guide

Our super-comfy unisex mustard rust orange Shing Mai trousers are ethically produced in Bangkok, Thailand, from our own original design. Made from soft, 'shing mai' ribbed cotton, these trousers are smart and stylish but also very comfortable - equally good for formal settings or for lounging around at home. They come in a variety of colours and sizes from S-XL.

The waist measurements for the individual sizes below are given as a range because the waist has a drawstring that can be tightened or loosened to ensure a perfect fit. Please note that when new, the drawstring may be a bit stiff  at first so you may need to hold the waistband with one hand while pulling the drawstring with the other. With use, the drawstring will soften and move easily.

Our unisex Shing Mai trousers have a narrow fitted leg and a generous rise (crotch depth) for extra comfort. They look great on all shapes and sizes - either rolled up or left straight. Match our Shing Mai trousers with our Mandarin jackets or our Samue Kimono Jackets to create a super smart set.

Sizes & Measurements

Please be aware that these are 100% cotton trousers so they may shrink very slightly after their first wash (unless hand-washed washed in cold water) and thereafter they will retain its size. To avoid disappointment, please choose a generous fit and follow our Care Instructions below.

When choosing your size, please bear in mind the following.

  • The variable waist measurements* below reflect the minimum & maximum sizes made possible by either tightening the drawstring as far as possible or opening it out the whole way. Please choose a size which accommodates your waist, preferably somewhere in the middle of the range shown.
  • For extra comfort, the rise (crotch) size is larger than fitted trousers and so please use the outside leg measurements as a guide or choose a size that has inside leg measurements** 2.5"/6.3cm shorter than your actual inner leg.

      Vintage Sizing and Measurements

Vintage sizing and modern sizing can be very different. Because of this, we provide detailed measurements of all vintage clothing to help you determine whether or not a garment will fit correctly. An assessment of the estimated modern size will be noted, as well as any sizes on the tag, but please refer to measurements to best determine fit.

A good way to determine fit:

      * Find a similar item in your wardrobe.
      * Measure it according to our measurement guidelines.
      * Compare your measurements to those of the vintage item you are interested in.
      * You're done. If it's a good fit, make it yours!

We do occasionally pin clothing to fit our models, so please read all measurements carefully. We do not accept returns for vintage merchandise that does not fit. If you have any questions about our sizing/measurements, please contact us at info@meroretro.com.
